CELEBRATING 53 YEARS OF GIVING

Through its first 53 years, the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association has established a tradition of volunteering and giving back to the community in meeting its mission to promote and support youth sports in Greenwich.

  • The Old Timers association was founded by Joe and Jim Branca to:

  • Encourage youth activities in sports

  • Unite and continue the good fellowship which originated in the field of sports and athletic activities in years gone by

  • Further sports and good sportsmanship

  • Honor worthy old time athletes and those who were associated with sports

In meeting the vision put forth by the Branca Brothers, the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association raises funds through such annual events as its Branca Brothers Golf Tournament in June and Awards Dinner in November, as well as through the generosity of a very special community. The funds are then directed back into the community in support of the youth of Greenwich and the many programs and organizations from which they benefit. The centerpiece of the organization’s annual giving is its scholarship program, through which three graduating scholar-athletes are awarded four-year scholarships. To date, 75 men and women have received scholarships from the Old Timers.

The Greenwich Old Timers is led by a 23-member Board of Directors, including government and political leaders, educators, media professionals, athletes and coaches, and businessmen. While diverse in their backgrounds, they are united in their passion for Greenwich and for sports and singular in meeting the organization’s mission to support youth sports in the community.
