Purpose and Impact
Since its inception, the Annual Awards Dinner has recognized 235 local community members for their achievements and 151 national sports luminaries. The event serves as a primary fundraiser, with proceeds directed toward college scholarships for high school seniors and support for various youth athletic programs in Greenwich.
2026 honorees
This year, the Greenwich Old Timers Youth Sports Alliance proudly honors four outstanding individuals whose leadership, dedication, and community spirit have made a lasting impact on Greenwich youth sports.
John Kavanagh and Brian Kelley will be celebrated as the Local Honorees, and Toni Natale will receive the Coaches Award for her exceptional commitment to developing young athletes.
Scholarship Program
The dinner is traditionally held in November, bringing together community members, local officials, and sports enthusiasts. The evening features the presentation of awards to honorees, a raffle and auction supported by local businesses, and opportunities to contribute to the Association’s ongoing initiatives.
Community Involvement
The success of the Annual Awards Dinner is bolstered by the generous support of local businesses and vendors, who contribute items for the raffle and auction, as well as sponsorships. This community involvement underscores the collective commitment to nurturing youth sports and education in Greenwich.
Our first dinner was November 14, 1961. The Annual Dinner is our signature event of the year. We bring together National & Local Honorees to honor them for their sporting achievements. It’s a great time to to reminisce with old friends but more importantly your ticket purchase or program ad supports the Old Timers Mission. We need your help to support student athletes and to provide college scholarships.
dinner Program Book advertisements
A key part of the Old Timers’ fundraising is through advertisements in the souvenir program book that is given out at our Annual Awards Dinner. Placing an ad in the dinner program is key to our mission of supporting youth sports and the student-athlete.
It is also a great way to:
- Advertise your Business
- Pay Tribute to an Honoree
- Remember a loved one or a great friend
