Greenwich Old Timers Youth Sports Alliance Hosts Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Fairview Country Club

The Greenwich Old Timers Youth Sports Alliance successfully hosted its annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18 at Fairview Country Club, bringing together community members, local businesses, and supporters for a day of golf, camaraderie, and charitable giving.

Established in 1997 in honor of the organization’s founders, Joe and Jim Branca, the tournament has become one of the Association’s premier fundraising events. Each year, the outing welcomes a full field of 128 golfers across 32 foursomes, raising funds to support youth athletic programs throughout Greenwich as well as the organization’s college scholarship initiatives.

Participants enjoyed a full day on the course along with a variety of fundraising activities, including raffles featuring an extensive lineup of prizes generously donated by local businesses and community partners. Raffle items included golf experiences, equipment, dining packages, and specialty services, adding to the excitement and impact of the day.

On-course contests and tournament play added to the competitive spirit throughout the day. Matthew Walsh and Robert Sisca earned Closest to the Pin honors, while Quinn Warwick took home Longest Drive. The Best Ball team of Renee Murphy, David Lee, Jon Nederostick, and Will Grimes delivered a standout performance, and the Scramble division was won by Cooper Edwards, Jack Kelley, Brennen Cunnion, and Emmett Graham.

In addition, David Lee won the putting contest and generously donated his winnings back to the Greenwich Old Timers Youth Sports Alliance, reflecting the strong spirit of giving that defines the event.

Local businesses played a significant role in the event’s success through gift card donations and raffle contributions. Participating businesses included Alpen Pantry, Arcuri’s, Chicken Joe’s, Cob’s Bread, Coffee for Good, Cos Cobber, Greenwich Cheese Company, Joey B’s, Little Pub, OG Deli, OG Wine Merchants, Pizza Post, Polpo, Rinaldi’s, Table 104, Tony’s Deli, Maria Turkel Styling, Fahey Fine Jewelry, Zody’s 19th Hole, Bosco’s, The Cottage, Louie’s, J House, Rack and Rally Majong, L’Escale, and Splash Car Wash.

Additional raffle prizes included a Bushnell Wingman speaker, TaylorMade golf clubs, a ladies golf bag, golf rounds and lessons, fine jewelry, and exclusive experiences at local clubs such as Fairview Country Club, Innis Arden Golf Club, and Milbrook Club.

The event was made possible through the generous support of its corporate sponsors. Gold Sponsors included the Jay Family Foundation and Rogan Family Foundation. More than just a day on the course, the tournament reflects the Greenwich Old Timers’ longstanding commitment to community, sportsmanship, and service. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit local youth sports programs and help fund scholarships for student-athletes.
